This piece is constructed from retired climbing ropes, transforming worn gear into a visual record of use, endurance, and history. Sections of frayed rope and aged equipment are deliberately preserved, highlighting the passage of time and the marks left by repeated climbs. Interwoven throughout are both Celtic knot forms and traditional climbing knots, blending cultural symbolism with functional design. At the base, two ropes are secured with belay devices, grounding the composition before extending upward and outward through the work. Behind them, a tan, abstract rope pattern evokes the silhouette of a mountain, suggesting both the physical landscape and the enduring pull of ascent.
