In this session we’ll be using our observational skills to paint the Mojave Woodyaster (Xylorhiza tortifolia). We will learn how to use our paintbrushes to paint in layers, using wet on wet techniques for the first layer and later tease out little details like the edges of the petals in steps. We’ll learn how to color match to find our preferred floral hues, and hopefully everyone will come away with an aster portrait that brings them a little bit of springtime joy!
This class is suitable for everyone, including those with no prior experience in watercolor.
