Color Workshop 1
A painting workshop with Ana Budnyk
Thursday October 20th, 2022 - 5.45pm - 7.45pm
In this workshop, we will learn how to mix colors and create personal relationships with them. This class will give you more confidence in mixing colors and inspiration to experiment further in your projects.
This workshop presents a series of sequential studies that build upon each other to uncover the mysteries of color theory. The paint-mixing exercises, like the color wheel (our next exercise), demonstrate particular color concepts, followed by an accompanying collage. I think of the paint-mixing exercises as being similar to practicing piano scales or chords for musicians and the collages as related improvisations.
You will learn:
How to mix colors on a pallet and paper
How to create a Color Chart
Draw your Color Wheel(s) and learn about color relationships
Make a collage using prismatic colors from your color wheel
This class is suitable for everyone, including those with no prior experience in watercolor.
Workshop materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your brushes, paints, and paper to get more familiarity with your materials.
This workshop is for adults and young people aged 15+.
*Each class is currently capped at 10 people, and we offer two free spots per class to people with financial needs. Please reach out to us at contact@c5studios.org to request your scholarship spot.
