Join us for a night of pumpkin carving—with a twist! Instead of traditional pumpkin carving, we’ll use linoleum carving tools to create intricate designs by carving into the surface of the pumpkin.
By removing just a few millimeters of the pumpkin’s skin, you can create areas that allow light to shine through without cutting all the way into the pumpkin. This technique lets you add fine detail and create designs that wrap all the way around your pumpkin while maintaining its structural integrity.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn carving techniques and create a one-of-a-kind Halloween porch decoration—so stunning your neighbors will be SPOOKED by your artistic talents!
Come get into the Halloween spirit and try a new way to carve a pumpkin :)

About the Instructor:
Jessie Sheldon is a printmaker, muralist, and illustrator hopping between the eastern Sierra, Pacific Northwest, and coastal Alaska. Her work revolves around fisheries, wilderness, and environmental communication, all of which find their way into her sketchbooks and onto big walls. She's drawn to fishy, feathered, and botanical forms, and swooping, bold linework that reflects the dynamic landscapes and ecosystems she spends her time in.
Her biggest art piece to date can be found in Lone Pine in the Eastern Sierra Interagency Visitor Center, in a mural celebrating the unique landscapes and ecosystems surrounding the Owens Valley.
Jessie finds joy carving prints, ice skating on frozen lakes, bushwhacking, and swimming in cold water.
